What is the European Expansion Map?
It is a free, preliminary assessment. Based on your answers, we calculate your Europe Readiness Index (0 to 100) across five areas (entry, funding, connections, growth and investment) and point out priority opportunities and next steps.
Who can take part?
Startups, growing companies and established companies that want to enter or grow in Europe, especially from outside the European Union.
How long does it take and what do I need?
About 4 minutes, one question at a time. At the end we ask for your company presentation (required; PDF, PowerPoint or Word, up to 10 MB), so that we can understand your business, team and current stage. You do not need to include confidential information or trade secrets.
How do I receive the result?
Your index and opportunities appear on screen as soon as you finish. You also receive the full report by email, with a personal link, which you can save as a PDF.
What happens next?
Our team reviews your answers. Best-fit companies may be invited to a European Expansion Session, before or during Web Summit (Lisbon, 9 to 12 November 2026). Either way, you receive your report by email.
Does submitting the assessment mean approval, a meeting or investment?
No. The result is preliminary and does not guarantee a meeting, selection or investment. Investment, funding eligibility and implementation remain subject to individual review, due diligence and formal validation. The map is not legal, tax, financial or investment advice.
How are my data and my presentation handled?
We use your data to carry out the assessment you requested and to reply to you. Your answers and presentation are recorded in a private area of the website, with no public access. They are analysed by the Madeira Investment team and, with the authorisation you give in the form, may be shared confidentially with potential investor partners, solely so that they can assess the project. The presentation is kept for up to 12 months unless a business relationship follows. You can ask to access, correct or delete your data at any time through the contact form on our website. Will I receive marketing emails?
Only if you give your consent, which is asked for separately and only becomes active once you confirm it by email. You can withdraw it at any time, using the link in every email or through the contact form on our website. The email with your result is always sent, because it is part of the service you requested.
Is there a cost, or do I have to buy any services?
No. The assessment is free and carries no obligation. If you decide to go ahead with any Madeira Investment service, you will first receive a proposal setting out the scope, price and terms.
How is the index calculated? Is the result final?
The index is calculated automatically from your answers, with different weights for the five areas. It is a preliminary reading, not a decision: decisions on sessions, selection and investment are always made by our team. If your company's situation changes, you can take the assessment again or ask us for a review through the contact form on our website.
